Another responder suggested installing the pre-compiled Plone binary, which contains an appropriate python build. This will work but that's a lot of baggage if you are more interested in Zope than Plone.
I'm having enough fun with Zope as it is! Let's not complicate things further. (I'm agreeing with you just in case that wasn't crystal clear :-)

These come with the correct python version embedded within the Zope directory tree, so they're completely self-contained and probably exactly what you want. There are also some nice nice pre-compiled addons to Zope at this site.
It'd be nice if they'd tell you these things, eh?
LOL. At the moment that's exactly how I feel. e.g. I downloaded the pdf version of the Zope book - but now I'm told that the more up-to-date versh is only available online. Oh well, all part of the learning curve of life ;-) Simon Forster ___________________________________________________ LDML Ltd, Office One, 16 Canham Road, London, W3 7SR, UK Tel: +44 (0)20 8749 7766 Fax: +44 (0)70 9230 5247 ___________________________________________________
