Hi, there's an important mistake on Zope's download page, what you can read there is: "* All versions of Zope prior to and including 2.3.0 b1 should have the 2001-02-23 hotfix installed to address a potential security issue." but the hotfix info says: "This hotfix addresses and important security issue that affects Zope versions up to and including Zope 2.3.1 b1" Note the difference between the two version numbers. So if you just read the main download page, you may decide to not download this hotfix because you feel you're secure using a 2.3.1xx Zope version, which seems to be false. One of these two pages has an error, and since I've not (yet) downloaded the page myself, I can't say for sure which one is faulty. hoping this will help.
