Hi, I would like to create a website which can be administrated by NON IT user. Basically the requirement is similiar to www.zope.org where there are: -News -Events -Search -discussion -etc... So, my idea is to give the NON IT admin to update his/her website if there is any NEWS/EVENTS update. -Do you think, it is advisable to use CMF? CMF still appears complex to me as there isn't enough documentation to cover Look and Feel customization. can anyone suggest what is the good formula to develope zope.org kind of website? Regards, Herianto
Yes I think CMF and/or Plone is the answer. News Items, discussion and search are all built-in out of the box. With 1.3 Events are now part of the package as well. I'm currently working on an Intranet solution for a bunch of teachers using a heavily-customized CMF (on the surface level; not hacking the source), the success of which will depend on the ability of non-IT people to comprehend and use the paradigm. I'll let you know how it goes. ;p (but really I expect no problem) Basically at this point, to learn CMF you just need to get into the portal_skins and see how everything connects, as well as the other portal_* tools. This is how I've gotten as far as I have. <--> george donnelly - http://zettai.net/ - "We Love Newbies" :) Zope Hosting - Dynamic Website Design - Search Engine Promotion

You should 1) not post html on this mailingslist 2) check the following links, content management systems are widely covered in zope http://www.zope.org//Members/bavarian/CMS/ContentManagementSystem http://www.squishdot.org/ http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZopeBook/current/ZPT.stx hth., sebas H.Tan wrote:
