You might think that, I disagree. But then, I read comp.lang.python via the mailing list. I think this has come up on a number of occasions, and no-one's volunteered to do the work to get the newsgroup created. I know I don't read usenet at all (except, as noted, for some that are gatewayed to/from email) and I suspect I'm not the only person on this list that wouldn't bother with the newsgroup.
