Zope BOF at Python Conference
Anyone attending the python conference interested in having a BOF on Zope? Areas that aren't in talks and could be of interest include CMF/PTK, ZEO etc... Cheers. -- Andy McKay.
Forgive my ignorance, but what's a BOF? Whatever it is, I'll be there and I'd love to learn more about ZEO. Craig Dunigan On Mon, 19 Feb 2001, Andy McKay wrote:

BOF is "Birds of a Feather" talk and I havent actually been to one, but they are informal, more of chat and meeting of ideas rather than a paper or talk. -- Andy McKay. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Craig Dunigan" <craigd@persoft.com> To: "Andy McKay" <andym@activestate.com> Cc: <zope@zope.org> Sent: Monday, February 19, 2001 10:33 AM Subject: Re: [Zope] Zope BOF at Python Conference

<crestfallen expression>Oh</crestfallen expression>. Sounds more like a flock of birds who already know, and I'm barely a fledgling who has more questions than ideas. Still, if you can suffer a rank amateur, I'd love to sit in a corner and absorb what I can. Craig On Mon, 19 Feb 2001, Andy McKay wrote:

Well, I'll be there ... I can talk about my ZEO implementation experience, but don't expect me to talk about the internal voodoo of ZEO :) -- -mindlace- zopatista community liason

(Sorry if there's a duplicate...) Sorry for the late reply! We're interested in having an "Enterprise Zope" BOF. The purpose is to let us listen and talk on the needs for high-performance, scalable, high-uptime Zope. Jim Fulton will take the bullet on leading this one. :^) Some possible topics: 1) What's up with the catalog!? (We have an answer for this. :^) 2) In what ways does ZEO provide Enterprise Zope and what is left to be done? 3) What other issues, such as better support for monitoring, are needed? 4) Are there other development paradigms, such as ZPatterns, that should be considered? 5) What are the development/deployment concerns for Enterprise Zope? (Such as production/staging server paradigm, source code control, etc.) 6) How is the new BerkeleyStorage going to help? 7) What is the role of caching? Any other suggestions? --Paul Andy McKay wrote:
