Hi; I'm not terribly familiar with WebDAV but have started investigating it. It appears to me that Zope does everything DAV does and a whole lot more. However, DAV is becoming as standardized as HTTP itself, so my brief analysis may have missed some critical points. Comments? TIA, BenO
I don't understand the real intention of your posting. WebDAV *is* standarized and it is becoming more popular and more and more web applications support it. So what's your point ? -aj ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben Ocean" <zope@thewebsons.com> To: <zope@zope.org> Sent: Wednesday, January 09, 2002 08:12 Subject: [Zope] Is WebDAV Necessary?

Uh, Zope Supports WebDAV, and I personally am very glad that it does. It allows my Windows using associates to update the Zope server (running on Linux) painlessly. Since Zope supports WebDAV I think that it is safe to say that "Zope does everything DAV does and a whole lot more." Standards are good, especially when they are standards that Zope supports :).
