Do you mean add 'RewriteLogLevel 9' just below the 'RewriteEngine on' statement in httpd.conf and then restart Apache? If so, I did this and nothing out of the ordinary is showing up in the access or error logs of the server...

Done. The rewrite_log, shows no errors. I don't think that this is the problem as I am able to sucessfully view all the Quickstart documentation which requires a working Zope(?).
