Re: [Zope] - Website recommendation
Please (everyone) brainstorm some ideas on this. We don't want
Have the zopesters seen the Giant Java Tree (www.gjt.org) ? I think it does excellent things in this area. Speaking of "Zopespot" - I'm surprised slashdot hasn't yet mentioned zope, it seems very apropos. And I submitted it too. Hasn't CmdrTaco realized we're planning a takeover ? :) -Simon

You must not reveal the plot or you will be shot for treason! The plans for world domination must be kept in strict confidence! -AdmrlHotDog (aka Gabe)

Best to wait until something has been actually implemented before trying to announce it. Besides, I think CmdrTaco is a Perl bigot, so there's a disinclination to show interest in Python-related things. -- A.M. I think its also best to wait until the licensing information comes out from the Digicool folks. I'm not too thrilled with non-open-source & GNUish licensed stuff these days. Some people have a much more hostile attitude towards anything that isn't free and open (GNU or BSD or Python licenses, for example). Best to know what you are dealing with. -Gabe

Rob is aware of Zope, I think, and has mentioned it in passing on slashdot. I have a mailing list called the "Open Source Wire Service". It's a list of about 500 people in the press who have told me they are interested in hearing about Open Source, and is intended as an alternative to the business wire. When you are ready to make a big announcement, I can put it on that. Bruce -- The $70 Billion US "budget surplus" hardly offsets our $5 Trillion national debt. The debt increased by $133 Billion in the same year we found a "surplus". More debt is predicted for 1999. See www.concordcoalition.org . Bruce Perens K6BP bruce@pixar.com 510-620-3502 NCI-1001
