There was a thread about ProxyRequests and the problem you get, if you enable them in httpd.conf (ProxyRequests On). In fact, a server can be used as a public Proxy server, if you enable this. I think, if this is really true, it is bad, that it is suggested in at least 2 Howto's on Zope.org: http://www.zope.org/Members/rbeer/caching http://www.zope.org/Members/Jace/apache-vhm Greetings Stephan --- Swiss Quality Zopehosting.ch --- http://www.zopehosting.ch web@goeldi.com Tel +41-61-7330555 Fax +41-61-7330556 _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
hi, i tend to agree: reading some of these HOWTOs, a naive user could happily configure apache as a public proxy and this is not good (it might not be disastrous, but at best you lose bandwidth to pron trawlers)! how can this be rectified? garry On 13 Mar 2002, at 12:39, Stephan Goeldi wrote: Send reply to: stephan.goeldi@datacomm.ch From: "Stephan Goeldi" <stephan_goeldi@hotmail.com> To: zope@zope.org Subject: [Zope] ProxyRequests Date sent: Wed, 13 Mar 2002 12:39:54
