Hi ya, has anyone cure for Zope running increbli slow on WinXP and cygwin? It seems that every single request takes many seconds before anything is returned to the browser. On the same hardware Zope runs atleast 10 times faster while booted on linux and a little bit faster if I am running Zope's windows-binaries. -- -huima
It's a known fact that Zope on cygwin is boring slow...Running a slow Plone on Cygwin will make it ******* slow. -aj --On Montag, 19. Januar 2004 10:55 Uhr +0200 Heimo Laukkanen <huima@iki.fi> wrote:

It's not just Zope on Cygwin that is slow. *Cygwin* is slow. Incredibly useful, just slow. On Mon, 2004-01-19 at 04:04, Andreas Jung wrote:

Because cygwin provides a posix emulation layer for windows. It's generally 20-30% slower on io operations. I didn't check my facts so my memory could betray me. - -- Robin Y. Millette (aka Lord D. Make sure you are not running it in debug mode! I remember something about cygwin's network connection handling being slow as well. alan
