External Editor stopped working for me
I love the External Editor product - it's worked flawlessly on a Win98 system. I just moved to a Win/XP system. External Editor worked for about a week, but now for some reason always fails with: FATAL ERROR: {Errno 1] No such file or directory: C:\\Documents and Settings\\Roger\\Local Settings\\Temporary Internet Files\\Content.IE5\\mumble\object[1].zope I'm wondering why this worked for awhile, and now stopped. And for some reason, my actual directory structure now includes ...\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 Not sure how the extra Temp got in there, or how to circumvent it. Thanks for any advice.
I'd be interested if you ever figured out this problem... as I'm suddenly facing the same thing (used to work fine- not sure what changed). I'm running Zope 2.6.1 on Linux (RH9) and trying to open Word documents from a Windows machine. I get the same 'no such file...' message you reported. any idea what's happening? ok- I may have answered my own question (partially). I found that cleaning out my internet temp files directory (using the IE tools, etc. menu option) resolved this problem. It wasn't a disk space issue, but it did apparently have something to do with the clutter in that directory. gotta love Windows :-/ On Wed, 16 Jul 2003 14:31:40 +0000, Larry J. C. Prikockis wrote:

Okay Folks.... Finally got an answer to this one! I had the same problem. For a month now I've tried on and off to fix it. I just spent an entire day on the problem and still got no where... So I downloaded Firebird and tried it with that! absolutetly, positively no problem. works like a charm. SO I'll do zope developement via Firebird.... MS can kiss my.... Hope this helps! Jerry Westrick. P.S. Firebird is a special version of Mozilla, which contains only the broswser. Small(er) fast and complete! On Wed, 2003-05-07 at 20:16, Roger Fisher wrote:
