Help?
Most irc-servers only allow people with a hostname to connect to their services. Thus, if you can start irc on a machine that has a reverse lookup, you can connect. The machine you are sitting on now can not be resolved by the irc server, ie: [alwyns@196.34.63.75]. If you get a hostmask like [alwyns@server.company.com], it will let you in. Then you just do "/join #zope", and Bob's your proverbial uncle :) I would also like to remind everybody that has the time/possibility - hang out on the channel - it's very rewarding to have a channel with people that can offer "instant" support. I'm just starting to learn Zope, and the people in there have been very helpful. Regards, Alexander Limi part-time-#zope-dweller :)

not all servers throw you out with unresolvable host names. alwyn, try some of these: - irc-e.irc.ligthning.net - irc.core.com - irc.freei.net - irc.cs.cmu.edu jens
