Hallo! I'm thinking about using zope to develop some sites. May you please advise me about a Zope hoster? I've looked at those listed on zope.org, but some of them offer just 20MB or have most of the site written in german. One of them I can't even reach, others don't mention zope on their pages, or are a bit on the pricey side. I need a flexible, expandable solution. I may need 40MB and two domains for a start, and more in the future. I have to install my products and use pgsql or mysql. Shell access is welcome, too.. Do you have some suggestion? Which ISPs do you think are best? - OR - Do you think I'd better install zope as a normal user, on one of those cheap ISPs that give me 500MB ? Thank you very very much.
Hi, The company I work for is getting into Zope hosting. We're based in the UK and are pretty open minded since we've started doing a fair bit of work in Zope ourselves. If you or anyone else is interested in European Zope Hosting with a flexible, open-minded ISP (of course, I would say that ;-) then contact Simon Coles (simon@nipltd.com) or myself. Hope this helps, Chris Marco Mariani wrote:

I use Rackspace.com which is certainly not as cheap as other hosting providers but for under $200 you can get a fully dedicated 350 MHz, 64MB RAM, 8 GB HD and RH 6.1. So, in the end you pay about 2 to 3 times what another hosting provider has but it is your machine. You can install whatever you please, configure it to your hearts content and never have to worry about what someone else will say. Zope loves its own machine. I have found their support to be great and they do a 24 hr turn around for new accounts. Worth every penny (twice the penny if it is for your company). JMA

I suggest that you negotiate with service provided over the terms of the service agreements. You might find that they are more flexible than their web pages indicate. Or you may influence them to change the standard service agreements. I use CodeIt Computing and am happy with their service. -- Loren ----- Original Message ----- From: Marco Mariani <m.mariani@imola.nettuno.it> To: <zope@zope.org> Sent: March 21, 2000 04:08 PM Subject: [Zope] Zope hosting

Although http://www.beehive.de is in German, the owner and all the employees speak brilliant English and they have made me very happy -- with affordable rates (yes, could be cheaper, but you get what you pay for, and they have jumped through hoops for me) and fabulous service. My contact there is Mark Pratt <mark@beehive.de> Chris

We're phasing out hosting in favor of DASH (Dedicated Application Server Hosting). This is not a price quote: For about $200/mo, you can get a Cobalt RaQ3 that's all yours, hosted in our colo facility. Other Linux/UNIX platforms supported are VA Research and Sun. If you want NT for some reason, there's an HP box available.
