Problems with Zope Install
I am a newbie to Zope. I have managed to get version 2.6.2 installed on a i686 AMD machine running RedHat 9 and Python 2.2.3. If it makes any difference I also have Apache installed, but have not started the server yet. I can start Zope using the ./start command and am able to sign-in to Zope. Shortly after starting Zope, functionality begins to degrade and I am no longer able to navigate even though the application is still apparently running. I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems or can point me in the direction of any information. I have scoured the Zope.org site with no success. I basically followed the article below when doing my install. The install appeared to be the same as that provided in the Zope documentation. Thanks for any help. http://www.devshed.com/c/a/Zope/Getting-started-with-Zope-for-Linux-and- Solaris/
Zope 2.6.2 is meant to run in Python 2.1.3, not 2.2.3 . Anyway you are encouraged to install the latest version, Zope 2.7, which in its turn is meant to run in latest Python 2.3.3. Several improvements on stability and speed are reported with these releases.
