Now, could Zope still be Zope, but call Java objects? That would seem a fascinating concept, and well beyond my cluefulness... </schnip>
Oh yes indeed it could, that is I've managed in a small way to get Zope/Python using native Java classes as if they were native to Python (almost). I did have a small example up on my machine in work, but, wouldn't you know it, I did a clean re-install of Zope today. I'll get the page back up tomorrow and post the list again. Phil

You don't say, what a shocking state of affairs, I'll get the web-monkey out of the females cage and stop his bananas until he fixes it.. Seriously though, if you've followed this thread, I have said repeatedly that this is a *very* dodgy bit of code it has some serious issues that need sorting out by someone who has a better understanding of Java than me (I've yet to write anything in java, not even hello world). One of the issues, again, is the fact that the JVM can only be attached to a single thread of execution within a Python program, this has some major implications in a multi-threaded app such as Zope. It means that some of you lot are going to get errors when you browse the page, at the moment and probably the forseeable future there's not a lot I can do about it, but if someone wants to take up the mantle and get this thing working properly, then by all means ask for the bits I've got working and I'll send them to you. I'll restart the server shortly so you might want to look again, but be quick we don't have many left.
