RE: [Zope] Zope and Java
Well, if compared to PHP, you mean the ability to come up with solutions using Object-Oriented methodology, design patterns, and the like, then yes. If you mean you want to leverage existing Java class libraries and APIs and are comfortable with the benefits and limitations of something like JPE, then yes. If you want to go to sleep every evening with the knowledge that all your Java skills transfer quite well to Python, and that a Python solution will take much less effort and time, then yes. If you want to write a lot of Java code, then no. A brief closing thought: Java has nice frameworks, but is a crappy language. Zope has nice frameworks and a beautifully engineered language. PHP has crappy frameworks and a poor language. Sean -----Original Message----- From: Oliver Marx [mailto:oliver@tekk.dk] Sent: Thursday, May 23, 2002 8:03 AM To: Zope@Zope.
