More information needed... - Server set up? - Other things running? - Bandwidth problems? Zope is not slow unless installed on a very very very old machine with no RAM. Jake -- http://www.ZopeZone.com Rajeev Sharma said:

We need a bit more information to help. Is this a binary installation. Which version of Python are you using? Which operating sytstem. The behavior you describe sounds like you are runnning RH9 Linux without having updated everything to the latest version.
I am running RH 9 and it is fully patched. I had this behavior when I used the tar.gz install of Zope. When I used the RPM version for RH 9 (specifically), it worked without any issues. charlie On Nov 3, 2003, at 10:43 AM, Dennis Allison wrote:

I had the same problem on a no-patched RH9. By putting LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL in the start file, i solve the problem

I believe that the new threading code was shipped with RH8 as well as RH9. Upgrade everything to the bleeding edge and apply the sane settings recommended for RH9. Which Zope are you using? 2.6.2b5 or 2.7? Zope's prior to 2.7 are best run with Python 2.1.3 although many people report no problems with Python 2.2. On Tue, 4 Nov 2003, Rajeev Sharma wrote:

Check the mailing list archives. You need to upgrade everything (especially the kernel and glibc) to the latest versions. You may also want to set and export an environment variable LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL which changes the threading behavior. With these changes and using the binary linux distribution, I've been able to make Zope 2.6.2b3 work in a production environment. The stability of RH9 is still a far cry from the RH 7.3 we run on our other system. Both are dual Athlons with 2GB+ of memory and an obscene amount of disk. On Tue, 4 Nov 2003, Rajeev Sharma wrote:
