So other than having to compile everything from source on Solaris, I havent really found any problems (barring using OracleDA, but since I use MySQL ....). All I found are certain advantages relating to CPU affinity, and some threading issues which seem to work-around-able. Is that all there is to it??
Yup - but it helps knowing this ..... a number of us have been groping around in the dark for a year or so.

The OracleDA works on Solaris. What we don't seem to have a feel for is how well a heavily loaded Zope application that needs the OracleDA works on Solaris. (The same application running on Windows or Linux seems to work okay when loaded.) We're trying to get a better handle on this right now.
