If I understand it correctly, the iPlanet webserver is essentially Netscape Enterprise Server v4.x

Zope runs well with Netscape using PCGI. However, there is a patch needed (installed as a Netscape plugin) that coerces Netscape (um, I mean iPlanet) into forwarding the REQUEST's authentication credentials into the external application (i.e., into Zope). This plugin (tested with Netscape Enterprise Server 3.6.2) is available at:
