Re: [whiteboard-groupware] I'm going to ask groupware companies if they want to talk with us
Hi, this may be interesting for the Zope-community to get involved. --On Freitag, April 19, 2002 08:37:16 -0500 Gary Frederick <gary.frederick@jsoft.com> wrote:
I'm going to contact companies/groups/people/projects that are doing groupware things, asking what they do and asking if they want to interface with OpenOffice. Can you send me your favorite list of who I should contact?
I currently have:
mozilla, the calendar and ? projects phpGW http://www.phprojekt.com/
on my list. (my very short and needs to get much bigger list)
I want to make sure others know we are around and to see who is interested in us.
We will continue to focus as described in our items list. This does not prevent us from following up if something good comes along. For example, I know of someone that plans to release a calendar server this fall. It will support CAP, the proposed calendar access protocol. We can add connecting that server to our list, if it's reasonable.
The list should include more that just calendar and mail/news clients. Everthing from whiteboards to IM to ...
The OpenOffice.org project is working on standard XML formats. If/when there is a standard XML format for whiteboard, we will provide an interface and then Impress or Draw will be able to provide groupware 'stuff' for whiteboards (-:
We will start to collect groupware info now. (and write a calendar and a mail/news client and and and...)
