Re: [Zope] [Q] thread option in Python
01-05-25 ¿ÀÈÄ 8:54:13 Thanks, Tino. The environment is Devian 2.2 (Potato) Kernel 2.19 AMD486 ZOPE 2.3.2 Python 1.52 That is all of mine. I did not install other things than the source tarball from zope.org. There are two things. 1. I can not log-in as the manager account. (Sometimes yes, but sometimes no.) 2. The management interface screen does not reflect the changes I make immediately. Maybe some time has passed, and I make a connection to the zope, then it shows the changes. Hi Yoon,
if you dont have threads zope would not start.
Are you by chance using ZEO? Please provide exact information about your environment. (system, compiler, python version, zope version, installed products)

I built zope from source, but it acts strange. When I make any change in the Zope management screen, it works, but I can not see the change (e.g. newly added folder) on the screen. So, I would like to know what happens to Zope if Python was not built with --with-thread option.

does not sound unusual.

what exactly are you doing? Using what browser from which machine? Zope is executed with start? So zserver is in use?
2. The management interface screen does not reflect the changes I make immediately. Maybe some time has passed, and I make a connection to the zope, then it shows the changes.
May be per chance its a problem related to your browser (cache, proxy)? At least Internetexplorer is known to have completely cluttered settings in that area. (Check for "ask every time for new documents") HTH Tino Wildenhain

Dear Tino, Thank you very much. (Danke Shoen!) Now it works. I changed the preferences from: never compares to : everytime it opens the page. It acts fine with new changes and log-in. (I am working on zope with IE5.5 under Windows98, and use start to run zope initially.) Warm regards, Joo-Yung On Fri, May 25, 2001 at 11:35:14PM +0200, Tino Wildenhain wrote:
