Zope install process on Sun box with Solaris installed
I installed Zope 2.5 on a Sun Sparc 10 with dual processors, Solaris 8 installed and it was dog slow. I have 2 questions: 1. What is the minimum size Sun box Zope will perform adequately on? 2. Are the directions to install Zope on a Sun box with solaris installed correct or is there a different install process that needs to be followed? I installed Zope from source on a Solaris box without any problem ; if you installed Python from source also, there is just a few parameters to take care of while configuring Python compilation for "Big Files" to be supported correctly. But another thing that you should do on a dual processor Solaris box is to assign your Zope instance to a given CPU using "pbind" (eventually assigning a ZEO client on the second CPU) ; take a look at "http://www.zope.org/Members/glpb" to learn more about this...
