A zope-hackers type list would be quite useful I think. Anyone else think it would be a good idea?
Yes, very much so. I think a lot of discussions on this list divide according to whether the participants are fundamentally programmers or not. It's not just the topics (whether a particular "how to" question is for programmers or not is not all that clear, and there are gradations), but the way people think and talk about the topics that distinguish programmers from non-programmers. Even the kinds of answers they want. There'd be nothing stopping people from subscribing to both, but some people would want only one and searching would be more productive if restricted to one. By the way, I am planning to pay back all the programming help I've gotten from this list over the past few months by writing an example and document that attempts to capture many programming moves in Zope, especially the "how do you call an X from a Y" and "how do you access A from a Z" kinds of questions. I plan to make it a simplified & sanitized version of the site I built. Look for it late November. (My project ends next week, and I'll have time to do the writing after that.) -- Mitchell L Model MLM Consulting Wayland, MA, USA mlm@acm.org (508) 358-8055
