While I don't know the specifics of that upgrade path, you may want to try installing to a different directory than your 2.2.4, copy over any 3rd party products, possibly looking on zope.org for updates, and copy over your old data.fs to your new installation. You can run both instances of zope using different port numbers to do testing - see z2.py to set the port number.
