Does anyone know if it is possible to install Zope products using Webmin? I've just started using Webmin and find it to be a really handy tool. It would be nice if I could use it for installing everything I needed to. -- John
Zope has its own Quickinstaller which is very handy to install Zope Products...really not need for yet-another-klicki-bunti-tool. -aj --On Sonntag, 25. Januar 2004 19:05 Uhr +0000 John Poltorak <jp@warpix.org> wrote:

Where is this documented? Can I, for instance, install COREBlog using Zope's Quickinstaller?
really not need for yet-another-klicki-bunti-tool.

no idea where is it documented. i assume you can find the location by using google and reading the corresponding docs. -aj --On Sonntag, 25. Januar 2004 19:21 Uhr +0000 John Poltorak <jp@warpix.org> wrote:

I assumed that I could search ZOPE's home page for Quickinstaller, but didn't find anything...

actually quickinstaller is a specialized installer for handling product *instance* installation into a cmf site. its not currently useful in the context your talking about which is product installation into a zope site. -kapil http://cvs.sf.net/viewcvs.py/collective/CMFQuickInstaller

Unfortunately people have started creating products (especially true of the so-called "Collective") and not at least putting up a reference to them on www.zope.org - so yes, they're harder to find these days, and you might find duplicated product names :( Try Google.
You can't install products via quickinstaller - they have to be already in your lib/python/Products folder or wherever.... quickinstaller is for 'installing' a product into CMF/plone, if it's already installed in zope. that's what webmin could possibly do (if someone wrote a module for it).
