Specifying a URL to a Zope directory
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Just wondering what's going on here. If I have a clickable link, for instance, in this post http://www.compkarori.co.nz/x.php?/Auctions then some people tell me that this brings up a Zope error ( reports so far for IE, Netscape, and Voyager (Amiga browser)) using a variety of email clients. However, http://www.compkarori.co.nz/x.php?/Auctions/ works fine. Both work for me though using Turnpike as email client, and IE5 so I can't reproduce the problem. - -- Regards, Graham Chiu gchiu<at>compkarori.co.nz -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPsdk version 1.7.1 iQA/AwUBOPG8AbTRdIWzaLpMEQL2rQCfVpL7BJki7yWFbzWPR8WKpZi8M/UAoNmH tD6Si0KYKxsl1rI+DgiScQRX =WHxz -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

The obvious question is, what error? --RDM

Dunno. I don't see it. But you have a point - I'll ask them to post the traceback to me. - -- Regards, Graham Chiu gchiu<at>compkarori.co.nz http://www.compkarori.com/dynamo - The Homebuilt Dynamo http://www.compkarori.com/dbase - The dBase bulletin -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPsdk version 1.7.1 iQA/AwUBOPHgyLTRdIWzaLpMEQLEewCdFpwR92fcsyJGrGh5c1yXpk+XYI0AnA94 SHrzJJeRWjiNCd80mN7k/k6e =CPr2 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I just tried under Netscape 4.61 for Linux and it came up with an error saying the resource could not be found.
However,
http://www.compkarori.co.nz/x.php?/Auctions/
works fine.
Yup, that works fine. Trying the first URL again, it now works though that's probably because Netscape has cached the page. Not a solution, but it answers the question someone asked about what error is thrown back :-) John -- John Chandler / Software Developer / New Information Paradigms Ltd [ Linux in the office, AmigaOS in the home, PalmOS in the pocket ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The opinions above aren't those of my company... ...but then, they aren't really mine either.

Curiously, I didn't recall a traceback at the time. Anyway, I've just tried it again and I appear to get a different error to last time: (!?) (I've also just double-checked from a Windows box with Netscape 4.61 and IE4, and get this same error) Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. NameError Sorry, a Zope error occurred. Troubleshooting Suggestions The URL may be incorrect. The parameters passed to this resource may be incorrect. A resource that this resource relies on may be encountering an error. For more detailed information about the error, please refer to the HTML source for this page. If the error persists please contact the site maintainer. Thank you for your patience. No traceback either. The browser URL has redirected to http://203.79.82.38/Auctions if that's also of any interest. It's hidden inside a standard HTML comment within the error page (I think the rendered page even makes mention of viewing the HTML source for more information).
For more detailed information about the error, please refer to the HTML source for this page.
Oops, there it is. :-) Regards, Daryl Tester

I noticed after I'd sent my mail there wa another message about this. Was hoping no one had noticed my mistake... ;-)

I'll get some decent glasses for next time 8-) John -- John Chandler / Software Developer / New Information Paradigms Ltd [ Linux in the office, AmigaOS in the home, PalmOS in the pocket ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The opinions above aren't those of my company... ...but then, they aren't really mine either.

Supposed to do that. My ISP doesn't Zope, so I have a tiny PHP script that redirects to my Zope box. -- Regards, Graham Chiu gchiu<at>compkarori.co.nz http://www.compkarori.com/dynamo - The Homebuilt Dynamo http://www.compkarori.com/dbase - The dBase bulletin

Yes, this does. And when you go back to the first URL, that now works too. Cookie getting set somewhere? Regards, Daryl Tester

Okay, got it. It's nothing to do with the trailing /, just that when one reloads the page the session cookie gets set correctly. I have the cookie stuff set up on the home page, and if someone dives directly into a sub-directory, then that gets bypassed :-( Thanks for the traceback. - -- Regards, Graham Chiu gchiu<at>compkarori.co.nz http://www.compkarori.com/dynamo - The Homebuilt Dynamo http://www.compkarori.com/dbase - The dBase bulletin -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPsdk version 1.7.1 iQA/AwUBOPJl9bTRdIWzaLpMEQIA8QCfVoi5jT2uo86iYXwZHqtW2O1B+6wAoPOg Y6ceb3Br8foAF2Ln/O6p3QlR =cESB -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
