I don't think so. I think you can do what you want with the fmt= var attirbute and C style format strings.

my professor had told me that i would have to learn python in order to use Zope, and i told him "well... we'll see about that..."

Of course, learning Python for any reason is a *good* thing (or no reason at all).

of course i had already bought the beginners' python book by o'reilly a few days before that ;)
