Ah thanks... looking at the Roadmap I believe easier product installation is definitely needed. Red Carpet is Ximian's new "update" utility. It runs on Gnome, but also updates applications and Linux distros. I tried it, and thought it was very nice. I will be one of the update services comperable to Red Hat's Up2Date and Eazel's software maintenance service. That's my understanding of it, anyway. I guess the question applies to the Eazel service as well. Currently, RC (in beta) has some serious issues, especially when relating to kernel dependencies. While it would be good to look into, I am not sure it would be usefull _yet_. i get the feeling that Ximian will be charging to be a part of this system, though I have noting more than a gut feeling to go on.
