Well, now that I have the stable version of Zope running, I was curious if some of you experienced Zope users could give me some advice on the wisdom of instead simply running the Zope 2.x beta. From what I gather reading about it, there's a backward incompatability (I'm not sure how large though) which I figure I could avoid if I went the 2.x route now. Any advice on the wisdom of this? Thanks in advance. -- Regards, | <redwards@golgotha.net> | Linux: superior operating . | <http://www.golgotha.net> | system tools for those Randy | | who know how to use them.

Well, for on thing, you can't yet import any 1.x databases into the ZODB3 database. You can run Zope 2.x with the old ZODB2 (aka BoboPOS) though, but you'll loose the extra advantages of ZODB3 (obvioulsy). Also, things are still instable. 2.x is still in alpha. While I'd be willing to use a beta release for development, I wouldn't use it for production work.

I can't think of any significant backward incompatabilities. What were you refering to? Jim -- Jim Fulton mailto:jim@digicool.com Python Powered!
