I tried several of the Zope Solaris binaries from your site and they all give me a directory checksum error during the "tar xvf" part of the install (they gunzip just fine). If this is a general problem, you might want to at least remove the files from your site. BTW, the Linux binaries work great, and I am quite impressed with Zope so far. If I convince my company to deploy it as part of our intranet portal, I will probability need to get it running on Solaris 8. Dennis
Use GNUtar instead of Solaris tar. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis Heltzel" <dheltzel@adolor.com> To: <zope@zope.org> Sent: Tuesday, June 18, 2002 10:02 AM Subject: [Zope] Zope for Solaris

Use Gnu TAR instead of the Solaris tar since it is buggy. -aj
hi, maybe its a problem of your tar... http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Misc/InstallingZope.html <snip> *Note to Solaris users: Zope requires the use of GNU tar. </snip> -mj On Tue, 2002-06-18 at 16:02, Dennis Heltzel wrote:

this is a FAQ: use "gnutar", not the built in tar. jens On Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at 10:02 , Dennis Heltzel wrote:
