I have recently installed ZOPE 2.5 and before that i had installed ActivePython 2.2 , but at zope info page it is like that: Zope Version (Zope 2.5.0 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.2, win32) Python Version 2.1.2 (#31, Jan 15 2002, 17:28:11) [MSC 32 bit (Intel)] System Platform win32 And then , can't i compile zope with ActivePython , or can't i compile extensions to zope using the active state version? I want explanations with that , for i'm very confused here , don't know what to do...
Zope doesn't "officially" work with Python 2.2. You evidently installed the binary version of Zope which ships with its own Python (which is fine). On Sat, 2002-05-18 at 11:41, José Orlando Ribeiro wrote:

But , when i install zope , does it install a python version with it? And , does zope work with active python 2.1? very simple: the zope *source* download does not have its own python binary. you need to provide your own (and no, version 2.2 will not work). the *binary* downloads have their own python binary. get python 2.1.3 if you install the zope source version. jens On Saturday, May 18, 2002, at 01:30 , José Orlando Ribeiro wrote:

i highly suggest you use the same version of python that is needed to run zope itself, which is 2.1.3. jens On Saturday, May 18, 2002, at 02:52 , José Orlando Ribeiro wrote:
