I use Zope 2.3.2 and SuSE Linux 7.1 and it seems like when I do a lot of programming, uploading files and testing them Zope frequently freezes up.... Zope runs fine when it just serves the sites, but as soon as you start programming you are in danger of locking it up. Yesterday I changed from the binary release to source - release. Compiled everything fresh but one time yesterday night it locked up again. I only have the problems - no solution ;-( Jan Jan@Mountainbikehq.de http://www.MountainbikeHQ.de - Your home for DH, DS and CC Mountainbiking

I'm running Zope 2.2.4 on OpenBSD snapshot 2001-04-25 and there haven't been any problems so far. Ragnar

I have the same under SuSE 7.0. Seems to be a very well known problem that - as far as I have followed the mailing lists noone has tracked down yet.
Hello,

I run two OpenBSD/Zope servers and neither has had a single issue. So I don't think the problem is OpenBSD. Luke

BTW: If you send problem descriptions to the list it would be very helpful if you could _at_least_ provide the version numbers of the programs/OS you're talking about. Ragnar

We are running Zope 2.2.2 under OpenBSD 2.7 interactive with Extensions programmed in Python and a lot more ... One thing we are doing here is running an interactive online congress-abstracts tool where a lot of people have to submit their papers and images using the zope user interface Congress members were asked to submit their papers in plain text or simple HTML without any <head><body> etc. tags because we construct the abstracts site on the fly. Nearly all of them submitted exported HTML (including MS-Word HTML Export). We work quite a bit to remove all the garbage and get the site clean. I tell this cause Zope and the Browsers receiving our 'chaotic' HTML do heavy duty. We NEVER ever experienced any problems running the Zope/OpenBSD combination. More details of your installation would give the chance to help.
