I don't know when (or if) that was ever integrated into the zope core, but I'm sure that if you search Zope.org for Latin-1 you should find it... This time, ZCatalog is better than its reputation:
If you start Zope with the "-L" option, then "locale" support is enabled. ZCatalog will then be able to correctly handle any local encoding, provided it is an 8-bit encoding. Dieter
