Article regarding JPassport
I saw this article regarding passort. So did Python beat Java to the punch? Seems to me andym released a Passport interface a while back.
Weatherly has been involved in a Microsoft.NET-related project for more than a year, writing code for a Portable.NET project as part of GNU/Linux's version of .NET.
Although Weatherly did not dispute claims that JPassport is the first of its kind, he highlighted the work that is being done on single sign-on authentication systems worldwide.
"They [BuyItOnline] may be correct [in claiming] this is the first product in the world of its kind. But this is perhaps because almost everyone else is trying to replicate the whole of Passport, not just the client side
Im really not sure what they are claiming they have done, but it sounds like they have replicated the whole client side Passport stuff in Java. I just wrote a Zope wrapper around a COM objectm so it still relies on the original Passport being installed underneath. This has more of a marketing smell to it than anything substantial. -- Andy McKay ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Johnson" <james@tacomait.com> To: <andy@agmweb.ca> Cc: <zope@zope.org> Sent: Tuesday, March 12, 2002 2:06 AM Subject: [Zope] Article regarding JPassport
