there is test_largefile.py script in the tests directory. I think this checks your interpreter.

We just ran this script and as expected it returned negative. No LFS on our server :-(((

Well here goes recompilation. Should we just remove the RPM's and install from a tarball ?

We found another solution - download the source rpm package from Mandrake and recompile that with LFS ... I hope that will do it ... Gitte
