Cannot use rename and other buttons on root folder

When I check one of the items in the root folder and click any of the rename, copy etc buttons at the bottom, it shows me a view of the root folder in the frame. In any other folders other than the root folder, the buttons work fine. What's going on? Thanks, Jim

What's going on?
I found the problem. My rewrite rules were munging the manage requests for the root directory. Jim
