There is definitely a problem under a Linux 2.6 kernel - not sure why, though? The problem for me (Debian sarge packaged Python 2.3) seems only cosmetic; zopectl starts zope fine, just displays an error. Sean

What kernel version are you using? I switched from Zope 2.7b2 to 2.7rc2 at about the same time as from kernel 2.2.17 to 2.6.0
