At June, 20th 2002 beehive has declared insolvency. Hence, beehive cannot legally do business of any kind. Left behind were a 100.000 in debt and unpaid beehive employees who also wrote zopemag articles. A week ago, Mark Brat, ex-beehive CEO, posted a news-item at zope.org, asking for writers to help publish in beehives zopemag. Now that's what I call chutzpah! To the best of my knowledge this makes Mark Brat a fraud, a criminal, by german law. Layout, prose, and content of zopemag/writefor indicate a dire need for page design, lectorate, and writers. What has happened? Everybody who had done business with Mark Brat went away disappointed and disgusted, saying "Never again!". He's a rich parents single kid (who baught him beehive, after which beehives staff slowly evaporated), school drop-out, good-at-nothing except shmoozing, a complete failure as a manager and salesman, bossing around like an uneducated pimp, lazy, greedy, no scruples, good at lying into your face, a con-man selling stuff he does not have and will not deliver. Without him, Zope could well be much more popular in germany. Lacking economic success, zopemag was a last scheme, basically a community rip-off. When it was announced, the archives contain the valid concerns raised then. For would be writers: Do You want to earn money? A 4-page article gets you $100. How much time to write 4 pages *in-depth insight* without blah-blah? Do You want to make Yourself/zope more famous/popular? Both ok. With a closed threescore paying audience? For subscribers: You waited long time for delivery. You did not get what you paid for. Both in quantity and quality. Former articles so far rarely contained stuff not alreday accessible if you RTFM or STFW. Other content has debatable value relevant to zope, or stops were *deep insight* might start. Your money has been spent on frequent flyer miles, expensive drinks in topless bars, and what else a dickhead needs to feed his ego. Nothing left for articles. But help is on the way! Please check your writing style. Your posting is some kind of defamation. None of us is happy with Beehives roles in the Zope community (especially with their clain to represent the German Zope community) but you should take care with attacking Mark Brat personally. Andreas
FWIW, they have appearently not shut down their education business: <http://www.beehive-eu.com/training/>. There is still a possibility that beers and burgers will count as "education". ;-) Stefan --On Montag, 13. Jänner 2003 12:05 +0000 Chris Withers <chrisw@nipltd.com> wrote:

If not, maybe there is some warm sunny place where there can be another Zope BBQ? It's always nice of you can combine business and pleasure, and I like my pleasure in sunny wather around 30 celcius. :-)

Hi, the DZUG [German Zope User Group] will have two meetings per year. One in early spring [=>March this time, Location: Berlin, intended mainly (but not only) for the German-speaking zopers] and one in mid-summer [August]. The meeting in summer will be a conference with talks, workshops etc. and of course a big BBQ and could be adressed to the international community if there's enough interest...:) ... But meeting in Brasil is another option of course... Cheers, Maik (German Zope User Group: http://www.dzug.org) Gidon Friedman wrote:

The DZUG meeting is not a replacement for the BBQ since its target is the German Zope community however everyone is welcome ;-) (please check dzug.org for details). -aj --On Montag, 13. Januar 2003 21:02 +0100 Gidon Friedman <tempnospam1@friedman.ch> wrote:

I was discussing the Idea of organising a BBQ in Switzerland with one of my colleagues of the SiwssZOPE board. If there is demand for it, we (SwissZOPE) could do something in Basel which is easy to reach from Germany or in Geneva which is easier to reach for our collegues from the french speaking part of Europe. And then of course there is St Moritz which is in between the two but a helicopter is needed for easy access. Robert Am Montag, 13. Januar 2003 13.05 schrieb Chris Withers:
