Re. the comments on non-usefulness of multiprocessign with zope: I run zope on a dual pentium VA Linux server and the second process gets seriously used whenever the system is busy. It's quite possible that zope itself is using just one CPU (I didn't bother to check), but as there is lots of other stuff that makes up a running system (including apache in my case), the second processor still is very useful.
