Where can I set that a user can only enter the page after he's given a password? Or where can I set these user roles? I don't get it. Here you always set allowedVisualData to some value.

And here you check that the value was set (any value). As allowedVisualData is always set, condition is always true. You want something like this: <!--#if "allowedVisualData"--> The quotes forces the condition to be evaluated.

You set security for a document on the security tab for the document. You can set view so that only that role can view it. This will force a login when you try to access the page. Are you still logged in as a manager? If you are using the same browser to view and manage your site you will have to quit the browser and restart it so that you are an anonymous user again.
