Hello list, sorry for bothering with silly question, the last one was really silly. :( I casually discovered that the problem was that the Data.fs file copied from the cd rom was set as "read only" in Win98. Correcting this setting made Zope start successfully. Wow !! ;-) Now I tried to fix the statr.BAT file colling Zope both like this: "bin\python.exe" "z2-py" -Dr AND "bin\python.exe" "z2-py" -D -r none of these tries was successful. The process hangs. What's wrong with this? Also I found a very interesting thread about how to redirect the Zope logs to the Windows equivalent of /dev/null Thank you very much for ALL the suggestions you give and the discussions you generate (with you I mean you, listers ;) ) Bye Catonano
