How do you modify a sql values formatting?

Example: Here is my page it accesses a SQL_METHOD named flash_method, It is pulling an item from ORACLE 8 that is set to the type NUMBER

When ZOPE Publishes the data to this page specifically:

<!--#var ITEM_SEQ null=""--> it reads 1.0 rather than 1
