I am thinking of trying out Zope with IIS. I am I going to regret it?
I need to move into the Zope world slowly as I have large amounts of stuff that needs to be converted form Perl and ASP. Running Zope from IIS using the pcgi method outlined by brianh ( http://www.zope.org/Members/brianh/iis_howto ) seems like a good route. Would anyone care to share their experience of doing this? Thanks in advance.
I have been running several versions of zope and iis together on a number of machines without trouble. I'd say go for it. Rik

What benefits do you get from using IIS as opposed to just using Zope/Zserver? - -- Regards, Graham Chiu gchiu<at>compkarori.co.nz http://www.compkarori.co.nz/index.php Powered by Interbase and Zope -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPsdk version 1.7.1 iQA/AwUBOSEwurTRdIWzaLpMEQLH0QCgszoNFsLGR1TsrCYgZh3m59L5qqwAoKmx vPAIhtSRYFRmDEXB2UpJw7Wi =uRAL -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I think it is probably slower - but thats a disadvantage. The advantages are temporary for me in that I can't transfer multiple web sites with all the Perl cgi, ASP and database lookups quickly enough. My sites (virtual sites on a single instance of IIS) are constantly changing, so a 'little-by-little approach to transfer would suit me. It means I can start adding the great Zope products into my sites today instead of waiting until I have converted everything. Neil
