Correction: Re: [Zope] ZCatalog
Upon further investiongation... all the sub objects are listed as methods in the Yihaw Folder ZClass. I guess what I need is to find out how-to make them catalog-aware. ---------------------- Forwarded by Eric N. Dunn/USA/BAC on 09/20/2002 12:43 PM --------------------------- Eric N. How do I set an (already) developed ZClass to pick up the sub-objects of a ZClass in the Find objects of type: window? i.e. Yihaw Folder (ZClass) - sub object = Yihaw News Item - sub object =Yihaw Text Note - sub object = Yihaw URL I've been through the other ZClasses and can't seem to pick up the contruction. is yihaw a product or zclass? if it's a zclass, go to control_panel/products/yihaw/yihawfolder(?) click the subonkect page, and click zcatalog. you will now be able to add catalog if it's a python product, set the all_meta_types : e.g - search for all_meta_types at zopelabs.com hth

Can you put a new copy of the ZCatalog in your Yihaw folder, then catalog all objects from there? The only thing that should be cataloged is the Yihaw folder contents and down.

Thanks but the issue is centered on finding the objects for the ZCatalog itself. Yihaw objects within Yihaw Folder do not show as an option to find. I have to "Find objects of type: = All types" to have the Yihaw objects become cataloged. (Yihaw News Item, Yihaw URL, etc...)
My dilemma is having too many items cataloged and having to remove the reference in the catalog later. My search engine was designed to show only Yihaw objects contained within
a
Yihaw folder. i.e. Results presented show number of objects found and corresponding links. If the catalog has non-Yihaw objects that meet the search criteria, then the objects found is out of sync with links presented.

This isn't an answer, exactly, but....if you look at the job-board howto http://www.zope.org/Members/mukhsein/job_board_howto it has "a practical example of ... searching zcatalogs." It's toward the bottom of the tutorial...

Is there any way to make a ZCatalog catalog items automatically? Is there anyway to Catalog Yihaw objects only? At present we can only designate "Yihaw Folder" and not the sub Yihaw objects.
Can you point me to some good documentation.
