However I don`t want to be polemic :) and my intention was not spamming . I`m sorry if some zopers received three time the same email but I think sending my email to the three list is necessary to contact all different users that sent us feedback for the previous release. And as it seem you are one of the more active zopers in the lists we will be glad if you will give us your impression about our product. -- Vincenzo Di Somma - Responsabile Ricerca e Sviluppo - Icube S.r.l. My impression is not a good one since I won't even download it due to your total lack of consideration for list policies. I haven't seen any particularly positive feedback either. It is also rude to copy off-list messages back to the list without consulting their sender. None of these gives me any confidence that your product will be worth investigating. Personally, I would recommend anyone to use the DCWorkflow tool over your tool, since it is maintained and supported by one of the most polite and well respected developers in the Zope community. wow chris, i'm impressed by your exercise in restraint on this one, i was going to jump in on this thread but couldn't find a civil balance so...

i have a persistent problem and am wondering why. almost every time i see some product recommended somewhere and go to zope.org to search for it, a link to the product itself does not show up on the results page. often there are links to things on zope.org _about_ the product, but rarely will the product link _itself_ appear. DCWorkflow is a prime example, type it in on the zope.org search box and up come three links to zwiki pages - nothing leading one to the product itself. to me, this is a very serious deficiency. when someone recommends a product, as you did here, it should be trivial to go to zope.org and _find_ it (imho), and it just isn't... cheers, -- charlie blanchard http://baldguru.com/ LosAngeles area Zope Users Group http://lazug.org

I've noticed this too.... it's because DCWorkflow is in CVS only, and the developers mention it once or twice and assume everyone knows (since, they probably only deal with CVS!) Solution is to get a CVS client and get familiar with cvs.zope.org, and look there if you can't find anything. Unfortunately, the web front end there does not have something as simple as 'search for a product or package'

well, i cited DCWorkflow as a prime _example_ - i have the same problem with almost _any_ product search. another example picked at random: i went to the downloads page and clicked on "examples" then clicked on "Quick Survey." in the description of this product the author cites "TinyTablePlus" as required. enter "TinyTablePlus" into the search box and you'll get 5 hits - none of which will lead you to the TinyTablePlus product... i consider this a real problem and not a very good advertisement for zcatalog. but then, i have _yet_ to grok zcataloging either. <sigh> -- charlie blanchard http://baldguru.com/ LosAngeles area Zope Users Group http://lazug.org

I agree and one of the reason zopezen is there. Check out the products section http://www.zopezen.org/products. A search for Tiny brings two results, both products http://www.zopezen.org/products?batch_size%3Aint=25&productUrl=Tiny Cheers. -- Andy McKay.

well now, that's much more better! <g> hate to ask, but is this implemented via zcatalog... thanks, -- charlie blanchard http://baldguru.com/ LosAngeles area Zope Users Group http://lazug.org

IMO, it is because zope.org doesn't allow you to filter the search based on what you are looking for. It is pretty much a UI matter, IMO. For example, in this case, there should be a radio button or check box to mark that you want to search only for Products (Software Releases). I've asked for this before. Perhaps the CMF-ization of zope.org will resolve that. Bill
