Hi Floris I have been using TextIndexNG2 under windows with no problem, just copying the product as you describe. The only difference is the compilation of extensions, which I haven't done (used pre-compiled binaries). I tried to install version 2.0.7 under Linux as you describe and find the same problem - the product is apparently installed correctly and is listed in control_panel/products but is not available in the add menu of the ZCatalog index tab. Maybe someone on the Zope list can help? Nick On Monday 03 May 2004 12:37, you wrote:
Hi Mister Gaunt,
I am a student from Belgium & I am working on Zope/Plone. I have your email- adress from Gmane. I am trying to implement TextIndexNG on my Plone2 (Mac OS X), but it doesn't seem to work... I saw you are using Zope 2.7.0 & Plone 2 and TextIndexNG1.03... I am also using Zope 2.7.0 and Plone 2, but I can't install the TextIndexNG - product. I have tried different versions (2.0, 2.5) without succes. Your version 1.03 of TextIndexNG seems to work? I can't find anything about it on the internet? Can you please tell me more about it?
I followed the wiki - instructions to install the product:
* inside lib/python/Products:
tar xfvz TextIndexNG-X.XX.tar.gz
* cd to lib/python/Products/TextIndexNG
* install Python extensions:
python2.1 setup.py install
-- in our case: python2.3 setup.py install
* check the file permissions of the TextIndexNG folder (must be readable by the user that zope runs with) * restart Zope * create a ZCatalog or go to the Indexes tab of the ZCatalogs ZMI and select "TextIndexNG" from the select box
-- I can't see the TextIndexNG - in the select box? :-(
Maybe you can tell me more about it? Or what am I doing wrong?
Regards, floris.
