Just one small addition to many excellent points which were brought up in other postings. If maximum size of a row is of interest, be sure to check also this data out. IIRC, since version 7.1, postgresql's maximum row size is very big, (2 GB?), don't know wheter mysql is also capable of that. cheers, oliver
