What user do the ZPT files need to be owned by?

The same user who owns all Zope source code; This could be your account, or a dedicated "Zope" user account. Zope should run either as this user or as one who has only read and execute permission on the source files. Of course, this user needs write permission on the Zope "var" directory and its contents. If you launch Zope as "root", it changes to user "nobody" unless you have configured it otherwise, but it is better not to launch as "root" in the first place. Cheers, Evan @ digicool
