Now that a beta version of Pike has been released (see http://www.scripting.com/ and http://pikebeta.userland.com/), has anyone given any thought to a Pike compatible interface to Zope? It's a cool way to interact with a content-management system. Unfortunately it is only available for the Mac and Windows. dave
I was just looking at that earlier today. I was thinking that it might be fun to make some Pike-compatible stuff. Also, it might be interesting if we can set up a preferences system on top of LoginManager that is compatible with the UserLand spec. Mmmm... interoperability. I looked briefly at the XML-RPC spec this morning. It certainly seems plausible to create Pike compatible interfaces for specific products. Zope and Frontier work pretty differently, but from a content-writer's perspective there does not need to be a difference. I was very confused about this - the only Pike *I* knew of, is the core language of the Roxen webserver (www.roxen.com), which has been going for some time. As the Roxen team are about to shift version 2 of their server it seems like some lawyers are going to get some bunce here :( Tone
