problem is SimpleUserFolder
Hi, I have implemented [ simple user folder ] based acl_users. After customizing all the zsqls , when i click on acl_users i see a list of check boxes followed by icons. but names are not being displayed. I cheked the href . It has http://202.56.252.23/abc/expert04/acl_users/manage_users?name=%3Cr%20instanc... the getUserName sql is SELECT DISTINCT login as NAME FROM staff the getUserDetails sql is SELECT login as NAME,pword as password,role FROM staff WHERE staff.login=<dtml-sqlvar name type="string"> Am I doing anything wrong? I tried Zetadb pkg and tried to install it . Did the natural thing to add it (putting it in $ZopeHome/lib/python/Products) And restarted the zope ..but i am not getting it inh my add drop down menu. Wondering What can be the problem ? Is there some other Product(with proper documentation) to connect Postgres to zope. Waiting for reply.. The traceback on the console or so should give you an idea about what's wrong. I am not a clairvoyant that can look into your system. Sorry, but provide detailed informations about your problem. This is the best starting point to get help here. Improper postings or error reports are likely to be ignored because most of us have no time (and little interest) to think about what might be your real problem. a) This error messages is clear: you haven't installed the PoPy module or installed in a wrong way. b) Install ZPsycoDA. This is the *recommened* DA for Zope+Postgres. Install it and then report back. -aj

I don't know anything about the signature SUF expects, but does it really want the user name to be NAME? It also seems like there should be a WHERE clause on the getUserName method. If it gets the right number of users but doesn't display the name, there's a mis-spelling or a failed query somewhere. --jcc -- "Code generators follow the 80/20 rule. I've implemented Simple User Folder. A few thoughts: . Never ever test Simple User Folder (SUF) in root because if, for example, getUserDetails is just a tad buggy you will henceforce be unable to login to root :-( . Its very good and reliable ... just test it out .. spend time with the examples that are provided w/it. . Take a look at the fields that native (zope) authentication expects: name, password, roles and domains ... your external DB must have fields with these names (unless you want to re-write parts of SUF).
